Police are encouraging businesses around town to I.D. credit card users because of some recent credit card thefts around town.

Recently a woman stole credit cards out of the locker room at Golds Gym and immediatly bought purchases at a number of stores, one of these stores being Cold Stone Creamery.

With the help of Abilene police and gym members they were able to identify and arrest the woman within three days of the robbery at Cold Stone Creamery.

Now Cold Stone Creamery says you should expect to show and I.D. whenever paying with a debit or credit card.

And police say that it not only protects the individual but the company to ask for I.D. with credit card purchases.
