For over ten years they worked to raise the money and volunteers to restore the ruined home.
Wylie United Methodist volunteered to join Saint John's in donating money, supplies and much needed physical labor to complete the house.
The house was gutted, leaving just the foundation, before church member relayed floors, built cabinets and bought brand new appliances for the new parsonage; even the electricity and plumbing services were donated.
Flora Chriesman, the associate pastor for Saint John, and her husband, will be moving into their newly refurbished home on Monday the 22nd.
Flora and her husband plan on using their gift from God to minister to their new neighborhood.
"It's not a good neighborhood, but what I tell them is that if you put your faith in God, He can do anything."
Saint John's owns two other homes on the street, and beginning in 2009 Saint John and Wylie United Methodist plan to restore them as well.
