Texas Power Grid News

The state's main power grid operator continues to move forward on a project to overhaul how power lines are managed, despite a two-year delay. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas says even though the project is overdue and over budget, the project will end up saving consumers nearly $6-billion dollars over the next decade.

The power grid currently in place in the state is being separated into 4,000 nodes to cut down on congestion and also help regulated prices. The project is slated for completion in December 2010.
