Wind Turbine in Old Toys R Us?

By: Brittany Pelletz
Updated: December 22, 2008
A wind turbine company is on it's way to Abilene.

GES USA will fill the empty building that Toys R Us used to occupy on Ridgemont Drive.

The company is headquartered in Pennsylvania and specializes in training personnel to operate wind turbines.

It will lease 20 thousand square feet of the building from local developers Bruce Bixby and Mark Horn.

There are plans to cut out a portion of the building to put in a wind turbine inside for workers to get hands-on experience.

The company is expected to move in by the end of January, after some architectural work on the building.

According to its web site, GES operates 200 turbines in the Big Country.
