Updated: December 23, 2008
Abilene ISD missed the state's yearly performance marks on reading and math.

The Texas Education Agency's "Adequate Yearly Progress" report was finalized and released this week.  Progress is measured on TAKS scores, graduation rates and attendance.

According to an earlier report, four percent fewer AISD students met the reading and math standards for the 2007-2008 school year than in the previous school year.

While graduation rates improved by 2.7 percent district-wide, Cooper High School missed on both reading and math for the 2007-2008 school year.

Abilene High School missed on math.

All other AISD schools met AYP standards, with Austin and Dyess Elementary Schools rated "exemplary."

As a whole, Wylie ISD met the progress standard and all four campuses received the "exemplary" rating.
