Sweetwater Coal Plant

 The Sweetwater City Commission put their full support behind a proposed energy plant today.

The Trailblazer Energy Center is a proposed 600 megawatt electric plant that will be located just east of Sweetwater.

City commissioners unanimously adopted a resolution supporting the facility that is expected to create hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in economic impact.

The plant is to use new technology in order to reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere.

The City Commission joins the Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development in supporting the construction of the plant.

A date for the construction has not been finalized. .
