Alcohol Sales Up

All major holidays prove to be huge days for buying and selling alcohol, but few are as big as New Years Eve.

Many people will ring in 2009 with a toast and because of that, New Years Eve is often one of the highest nights for alcohol sales.

While sales at Christmas were down for items such as toys and jewelry, liquor sales in Abilene were up from previous years.

You don't have to drink to have a good time tonight, but if you do choose to drink tonight designate a driver or call a cab to go home.
