The Abilene Police Department responded to a crash at South 1st and Arnold at about 1:30 yesterday morning.

Police say Clifford Cartwright ran a stop sign and hit a concrete pillar head on.

The two passengers in the truck, Krystal Limones and Mazie Paulino were taken to Hendrick Medical Center with critical head injuries.

Paulino's injuries were so severe she had to be airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock.

Cartwright's injuries were not life threatening.

Abilene Police are still waiting for toxicology results to come back to see if alcohol played a factor in the accident.
