Freezing Rain Possible

By: Import User
Updated: January 4, 2009
Freezing RainJust in time for the kids to go back to school, an approaching upper level disturbance will bring a good chance of frozen precipitation Monday morning.

Meteorologists say a cold front moved through this morning, dropping temperatures into the 20s after highs yesterday near 80.

A strong upper level disturbance will be approaching from the west and there will be a good chance of precipitation developing over West Central Texas starting late Sunday night through Monday.

Temperatures north of a line from San Angelo to Brownwood are expected to stay below freezing and that will bring a chance of freezing rain to the area.

As of Sunday morning it was uncertain how much moisture will be present as upper level disturbance approaches, making it difficult to determine the area where freezing rain or just light rain will fall.

If you have travel plans for Sunday night or Monday morning you are encouraged to check the latest weather information on this developing weather event.
