It's been just shy of a month, since the owners at Smith and Son in Clyde found seven ATVs missing, and they say its affected their business, but thats all about to change. "It just made everything a lot easier [running the business] getting their merchandise back," says Deputy Tom Rumfield, of the Callahan County Sheriffs Office.

Already Callahan County Sheriffs have recovered five of the seven stolen ATVs, keys to tractors, chainsaws and weed-eaters. They've also made two arrests for possession of the stolen property; 20 year old, David Wayne Byrd, and 24 year old, Mark Anthony Moreno. Both men are from Abilene, and much of the stolen goods have been recovered in both Taylor and Callahan Counties.

Deputy Rumfield adds that there could be more arrests in the future. "[This is] a huge break to further the investigation. We're going to be able to pin-point other people that may have been involved."

Rumfield gives credit to many people passing on tips after about the stolen property on the news. "The news media helped a great deal in this case."

Curtis Smith, owner of Smith and Son, echoes Rumfield's words of appreciation to all of those who have passed along tips. He adds that it's nice to see the merchandise coming back to his store, but even more it's nice to see arrests are being made.
