Baucum Requests Trial

By: Tim Johnston / Victor Sotelo
Updated: January 9, 2009
Charles Baucum originally agreed to 8 years probation, but he changed his mind and now wants a trial.

Baucum was accused of sexually assaulting a 15 year old.

In December, Baucum, in a plea agreement with the D.A.'s office, took a sentence of 8 years probation.

Today, Baucum appeared in the 42nd district court asking for a new trial.

His request for a trial was denied by Judge Weeks.

Baucum will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
