A California couple has its hands on a very rare baseball card, but chances are you won't know any of the players on it. That's because card is from 1869. And, many believe it's the first card ever made.
This goes beyond antique," says card owner Bernice Gallego. "The card is from 1869. There's only 5 of these that exist and this is the best condition of the five."
Galleogo discovered the card a couple months ago just sitting in a box. She didn't think it was a big deal, so she listed it on eBay for $9.95.
"The first thing I told myself...can't be real," said promoter Rick Mirigian.
Experts confirmed it was the real deal, and it was quickly taken off eBay.
Back in the day, the card was used as an advertisement to purchase sports supplies. None of the name are probably recognizable but that doesn't mean they aren't big.
All and Bernice Gallego will auction off the card and they say some of the proceeds will go to charity.
