A careless smoker might be to blame for starting a fire in Jones county.

Officials believe a discarded cigarette butt on FM road 126 started the blaze.

The fire consumed nearly two hundred acres Friday afternoon.

Fire departments from all over the big country helped put out the blaze.

Extremely dry conditions and rough terrain made it difficult for fire crews to get the fire under control.
