State representatives are preparing for the opening of the legislative session tomorrow beginning at noon.

State Representative Susan King, R-District 71, of Abilene spent the day outlining her goals with KRBC.

While she clearly has her own bills on her mind, such as the Janie De La Paz bill, seeking harsher punishments for drive-by shootings and even additional police training to handle drive by crimes, she also highlighted three specific things as perhaps the most important to Abilene. That begins with education and the importance of our school systems from the very beginning to higher level education as they are the future.

Some other key issues on Representative King's mind is the wind energy business we have in the Big Country along with the oil and gas industry.

She also discussed the future water supply for Abilene from the Cedar Ridge reservoir.
