The Texas Legislature met today to discuss statewide needs.

KRBC's reporter Brittany Pelletz was in Austin today meeting with State Representative Susan King, who discussed a few issues which would affect citizens in the Abilene area.

Some of the issues addressed were money for education, the Cedar Ridge water supply, and the wind and energy business.

King wants Abilene citizens to know that the state legislature is for them.

"This is their house," King emphasized, "this is their government."

"There is no government," king goes on to say, "there is only people."

The legislature session will continue for 140 days.
