Alcohol Request Denied

By: Manny Diaz
Updated: January 14, 2009
A request that was tabled at the last Brownwood City Council meeting was back on the agenda Tuesday morning.

The initial request was to allow the Food Plaza
Convenience store located at 2800 Southside St. just across the street from the Brownwood ISD Administration Building and Guidance Center to sale alcoholic beverages.

But because the city ordinance prohibits the sell of alcoholic beverages if the business is within 300 feet of a church or school.

The request was denied.
