Local doctors warn Big Country residents to be on guard against the flu.

Abilene doctors have seen very few flu cases over the past few months and say high numbers of people have been vaccinated.

But, there is currently a flu outbreak across north Texas and doctors say it could spread to the Big Country.

They advise people to wash hands regularly, cough or sneeze into your arm, and get vaccinated.

Texas is currently one of ten states with the highest amount of flu activity.
