State lawmakers are already at it today getting heated over a voter ID proposal. The republican-backed proposal in the senate would require Texans to show a photoID before voting.
Right now, the senate has to have a two-thirds majority to consider a bill.
Now, leadership wants to change that.
They think a "supermajority" is far too much and kills important bills too early.
Despite all the uncertainty, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst thinks a voter ID compromise will be worked out.
