Gautam Roy of Fort Worth wants to save a little money on his monthly TV bill, but like picking a new television, there's no shortage of options.
How do you find the best deal?
We asked an expert at best buy, which sells packages from a number of providers.
If more HD channels are important to you, he says satellite clobbers cable.
However, if you want to bundle your TV with phone and internet service, cable and phone companies have the edge over satellite.
Many customers don't know some companies will sell one channel at a time.
Be careful with long term commitments, but don't be afraid of them, and don't be afraid to call your current provider; they might give you a better deal to keep your business.
Roy is still looking for a better deal, but frustrated by all the choices, says he'll stick with cable TV for now.
Cable and satellite aren't the only game in town anymore.
Phone companies Verizon and AT&T now offer service in many neighborhoods.
So experts suggest checking with them as well, and compare prices and plans.
