The West Texas Rehab Center began a "Phonathon" on Wednesday, January 14.

The goal of the telethon is to help pay for the cost of taking care of more than 23,000 people with varying disabilities throughout West Texas.

4,700 of these patients will be children who will be taught how to walk, talk, and care for themselves.

Another 7,500 will be adults age 60 or older needing therapy to aid in recovery from disabling conditions.

Phones will be open from 5:30 to 9:00p.m. through January 16th.

Volunteers will be calling asking for donations before the telethon goes on-air this Saturday, January 16th.
