Students from all three Abilene universities are working to make a difference in a war-torn area half way around the world. The students and several college ministers involved in the Bethlehem Initiative are working to bring peace to the Middle East by selling t-shirts made in Bethlehem.
The idea is, by using a t-shirt manufacturer from there, they will be able to give their economy a boost which may help bring stability to the region. They say even here in Abilene, we can look for solutions for peace.
"Everyone knows the problems, so we were just thinking how can we provide some solutions to bring peace and prosperity to that region of the world," says Tim Palmer of the Bethlehem Initiative. "It's just been wrecked by violence for so long."
Shirts can be purchased online (click here) or at McMurry University for $16.
