Speeding a Factor in Fatal Wreck

 Authorities now say a driver was speeding when his truck crashed into a stone pillar New Years morning in West Abilene.

Thats what Abilene olice say after analyzing the black box in the pickup.

Driver Clifford Cartwright and two passengers were in the truck when it wreck on west highway 80 and Arnold boulevard.

One of the passengers died from her injuries and the other was critically hurt.

While police are still waiting for toxicology results on Cartwright, they believe alcohol was a major factor in the accident.
