Deputy Hurt in Overnight Wreck

 A Taylor County Sheriffs deputy was hurt in a traffic accident early this morning.

It happened about 4:15 a.m. along I-20 near mile marker 277

The deputy was conducting a traffic stop near Merkel when another vehicle slammed into the back of his patrol car.

The deupty and the 75-year-old driver of the other vehicle were hurt.

Paramedics rushed them to Hendrick Medical Center for treatment.

The Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
