The weeks of waiting are over. Tonight, Texas country music icon Pat Green rocks the Abilene Civic Center as the featured performer at the West Texas Rehab Telethon.

The telethon, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center and on KTAB, is the primary annual fundraiser for the Rehab Center. All week on KTAB, you've seen success stories on just how much the telethon does for people across the Big Country and the southwest.

Charlie Chase, longtime co-host of the popular “Crook and Chase” talk show on the Nashville Network, will return to anchor the Rehab 2009 host desk for the 5 hour special. Texas legend Red Steagall will be back along with The Boys in the Bunkhouse for the 39th annual show. Other regulars lined up to appear are Bill and Susan Hayes (Days of Our Lives), Brad Maule (General Hospital) and Anacani (Lawrence Welk Show). Twyla Foreman, a very talented singer from Abilene will also perform during the show.

The telethon won't just be aired locally on KTAB. Television stations in San Angelo, Austin, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Midland/Odessa, Lubbock, Amarillo, Waco/Temple and Wichita Falls/Lawton, Oklahoma also carry the show.

In addition to the telethon, an annual internet auction of merchandise and services provided by friends and businesses take place. Last year, over $400,000 in merchandise was featured in the auction.

The annual telethon raises more than one million dollars to help make it possible for the West Texas Rehabilitation Center to serve more than 23,000 men, women and children regardless of their financial circumstance. The Center was established in 1953 as a private non-profit outpatient rehabilitation center and has become one of the largest, most comprehensive facilities of its kind in the nation. The Rehab operates facilities in Abilene, San Angelo and Ozona.

Tickets are available for $12 each for those who like to be a part of the Civic Center audience for this entertainment event. Tickets can be purchased at the Civic Center.
