Rehab 2009 Raises $1 Million

By: Laura Kellerman
Updated: January 19, 2009
The Rehab 2009 telethon raised $1,042,457 for the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, roughly $230,000 less than in 2008.

$270,000 of that amount came from the internet auction, in which bidders placed more than 10 thousand bids.  Winners are being notified by phone and can pick up the auction items at the Abilene Civic Center until 4 p.m. Monday.

More than 8,000 people attended the event, with live performances by Grammy winner Pat Green.

In the past 39 years, the telethon has raised more than $31 million.
