Essay Contest Gives Trip to D.C.

Taylor Electric Cooperatives is seeking local high school students to participate in the annual Government-in-Action Youth Tour essay contest.The winner will be awarded an all-expenses paid trip to the nation's capital as well as $250 in savings bonds.
The subject of this year's essay contest is "What are the biggest energy issues that your generation will face?"
Contest entries are free, but will be limited to the first 30 students that apply.
Applicants must be of sophomore standing or at least 16 years old.
Essays must be 1,500-2,000 words in length and will be judged by local educators.
The trip to Washington D.C. will take place June 11 to June 19 and will give students the opportunity to visit such attractions as: national monuments, the Smithsonian, the FBI, the Capitol Building and will even leave time for shopping and socializing.
The deadline for the contest is 5 p.m., March 2.
