Brownwood Coach Accused of Striking Student

 A Brownwood basketball coach is on paid leave after allegedly striking a player after the game against Wylie on Friday.

The 44-year-old coach allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old member of the Brownwood Lion's basketball team after a verbal exchange on on the bus.

The 17-year-old is willing to prosecute after suffering ringing in his ears; however, there have been no arrests made so far.

Abilene Police state the case will remain open until the player issues an affidavit.

The name of the coach has not been released.
