Anytime your feet hurt, it's not fun, and for animals, even minor foot and leg health problems can quickly become serious, and even life threatening.Horse foot care specialists, known as farriers, still travel from ranch to ranch making sure hooves are healthy. Farriers must have several skills; from knowledge of fabricating and adjusting metal horseshoes, to knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the horse.
A farrier's routine work is primarily hoof trimming and shoeing. From time to time, they also deal with injured or diseased hooves.
