The Lady Ruff Riders have some new additions to the 2009 dance team. Auditions were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Lucky Mule Saloon in Abilene.
Nerves were running high in the minutes before the tryout.
Sam Matta said, "As more people are walking through the door, it's normal to get those nervous, anxious feelings."
The judges were comprised of Ruff Rider sponsors and public figures from around the community.
The Ruff Riders were looking for 12-15 additions to the Lady Ruff Riders dance team before Saturday's audition.
Barney Welch of the Ruff Riders said, "We're talking about these girls performing in front of 5,000 plus fans at our games. What a neat place to have this, where not only are the fans here, the judges are here, and they're getting to perform in front of them. "
Seven girls made the Lady Ruff Riders dance team after the tryouts. There will be another audition in March to try and fill the remaining positions. Exude
