A Fed-Ex cargo plane crashed and burst into flames in Lubbock this morning.

The aircraft was completely engulfed when firefighters arrived but the two pilots made it out alive.

The plane crashed a little after 4:30 a.m. between a runway and a taxiway at Lubbock's Preston Smith International.

The flames are now out and investigators are interviewing the pilots.
It's still not clear whether the plane crashed on take-off or on approach.

The weather was cold and icy at the time but it's too early to say whether that played a part in the crash.
