For students like Wylie 2nd grader Nathaniel Mayfield, bad weather days are great days for hanging out around the house in your pajamas. Today he plans on watching some cartoons, reading Goosebumps and playing his favorite video game, Guitar Halo. Sam Thomas Elementary students and siblings; Jakson, Landon and Shae Talley are also taking advantage of the free day by playing together. They didn't let the lack of snow discourage them, they took swimming pool floating devices and used them to slide down a hill that had become iced over. Their mother, Jennifer, says that even though it means more work for her she enjoys having them home during the day so they can spend time playing together. Jakson and Landon are both quick to point out that, even though they have today off, it means another school day will be added to the calendar later in the year to make up for todays missed classes. Many Big Country school districts have yet to decide if they will be having a delayed start tomorrow or if they will cancel classes.
