American Airlines requested that all flights into DFW Airport be pushed back to 12:30 p.m. or later.
Most airlines at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport are operating at reduced schedules, but operations are expected to return to normal by early afternoon as temperatures begin climbing into the 40s. In all, more than 120 departures were canceled Wednesday morning due to winter weather conditions.
About 1,500 passengers spent the night in the terminals Tuesday night after having their travel plans interrupted by sleet and ice across the airport. Airport officials provided cots, blankets and other necessities, and kept restaurants and retail outlets open into the overnight hours to provide services for affected passengers.
Wintry weather is in the forecast for Wednesday night on the east coast, which will affect many more flights out of DFW.
