Two days of icy roads and two days of shoppers stay at home instead of out in the town hurt several businesses.

Amber Williams, a sales associate at ZIDA, says that every morning the mall has several mall walkers, besides the shoppers who are busy going from store to store, but she said "yesterday the only people in the mall, were mall employees."

The lack of activity caused several concerned business owners to ask mall personal to close the mall early.

"The mall closed at 4 for the safety of mall employees who have to drive home, but also because there was nobody out shopping," said Amy Walker a manager for Rick's Collectibles.

The mall opened up on time today, but several businesses, like ZIDA's stayed closed until later, so that employees would not have to drive on the dangerous roadways.

The sun, 50 degree weather and school being canceled all brought many shoppers to the Mall of Abilene today.

Amber said that this afternoon was the busiest she'd seen it all week.
