Abilene Police Department Recruiting

By: Tim Johnston
Updated: January 29, 2009
"Their badge may be your future."

That's the new slogan for the Abilene Police recruiting process.

Abilene PD has started up the next round of recruiting for their next police academy class.

Signs are hanging in the law enforcement center and bumper stickers are on the back of police cars encouraging people to sign up and join the police force.

Right now APD has 167 officers which is still lower then the 184 they are authorized for, so they are looking for more recruits in this next class.

And to increase their recruiting efforts, Abilene Police have taken out four billboard ads in other Texas towns including Midland-Odessa, Wichita Falls, Killeen, and San Angelo.

The deadline to apply is March 4th.
