Black History Month Preparation

 A series of events is planned during February, which is Black History Month.

The first was Friday at King Solomon Baptist Church in north Abilene. The opening worship service featured Chaplain Michael Daniel of Dyess Air Force Base.

Activities are planned for almost every day in February to celebrate the history of African-Americans. A parade is planned for Saturday beginning at 11 am. It will wind through an area near downtown Abilene.
