         Downing's interest in the news business began as a young man on the east coast where his family lived at the time.
          In junior high school he could be found at the Walter Reed Medical Center watching the Teletype machines at the hospital radio station.
        It was ultimately a class trip to the studios of the Voice of America that really lit the fire for Downing to become a news broadcaster.
        He went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Political Science. 
        Downing came to work for KRBC Radio as a newsman in 1976.
        He then moved over to to KRBC TV in 1987 where he has reported, anchored and has been News Director twice over the years.
        Downing is married and has two grown children.

        Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Kyna left Texas to attend Syracuse University. 
       Deciding the cold weather didn’t agree with her, she transferred to a m uch warmer climate at the University of Miami where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism.
        After college, Kyna taught middle school history and journalism for four years.
        She then decided she would rather work in news and got a job as Assignment Editor at WPEC TV in West Palm Beach for two years. 
        Kyna moved closer to home and began work as an anchor and reporter with KRBC then ended up moving back Florida briefly, working as a reporter at WBBH TV in Fort Myers, before coming back to Texas.
         Kyna is a member of several organizations including the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and the National Association of Black Journalists.
        When not working, Kyna enjoys reading, exercising and spending time with family.

    West Texas Today Anchor-Reporter 


      A native of Taylor County, Stephanie is from Tye, Texas, Stephanie knew from a young age that she wanted to be a news reporter.
      Inspired by her childhood hero Lois Lane, she got her start when she bumped into a KRBC TV weatherman back in 2005 and asked for a job at the station. 
      That led to a job at the station, staring as a camera operator, then working her way up into the news department an an assistant producer and then morning anchor.
       Stephanie attends Abilene Christian University where she is working towards her Broadcast Journalism degree.
       She is married and close with her family, so in her free time she enjoys spending time with them.

    Originally from Plano, TX, Tim ventured off to study at Asbury College in Wilmore, KY. While there, he double-majored in Media Communications and Spanish. While in Kentucky, Tim had to often defend his Texas roots and put up with jokes about losing the Alamo. But after graduating, he decided Texas was home and got back as quick as he could. Tim decided TV was where he wanted to be after vising a TV station on a youth trip in high school. Since that time he has interned at WFAA-TV in Dallas, and worked as a radio commentator for his school's basketball games. This August, Tim has the fortune of going to Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics , where he will with professionals from around the world. With what little down time Tim has, he spends it with family and friends, and he loves to watch sports.

    Brittany PelletzBrittany Pelletz
    Reporter

         Brittany Pelletz joins KRBC after graduating from Barry University located in Miami Shores, Florida in May of 2008. While at Barry, Brittany was captain of her cheerleading squad.  Brittany is used to moving around; she has lived in Arizona, Florida, and Massachusetts, and now, the Big Country. 
         From a young age, Brittany was interviewing friends and family, creating stories from scratch. She has always enjoyed writing and interacting with people. 
    Within all of her social circles, Brittany was "go-to" girl for information.


         After interning with the ABC affiliate, WPLG in Miami, Brittany knew that television reporting was the career she wanted to pursue.  She waited anxiously, with bags packed,  for that long-awaited phone call. When KRBC called, Brittany hopped in her car and headed for Abilene.

    Chief Meteorologist
       
       A Big Country native, Randy's hometown is Coleman, where he and his family live today.
         Viewers will recognize Randy from his time on our sister station, KTAB. He has been in the radio and TV business for over 30 years.
         Randy holds a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University and holds the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. 

       Randy enjoys the weather that each season brings but Autumn is his favorite time of the year. The volatility of the Spring storm season is his specialty.
     
        
    Away from work, Randy serves as Co-Chairman of the Coleman County Sesquicentennial Celebration through 2008. He also serves on various boards and organizations. You may also find him working on the family farm.

    KRBC Morning Meteorologist
       

       Born and raised in Oneonta, Alabama, Chris is a graduate of Mississippi State University's Broadcast Meteorology Program where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences with concentration in Broadcast Meteorology and a Communication minor. 
       He joined KRBC in February 2008 as our morning meteorologist on West Texas Today and environmental reporter on the "Big Country Green Report." 
       
    West Texas is no stranger to him as he started his weather forecasting and journalism career just down the road in San Angelo where he worked at our sister staion KLST TV.
        A native of Alabama, Chris moved closer to home as the morning meteorologist and a news reporter with WTOK TV in Meridian, Mississippi
        
    Chris is a full time member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.




    Stephanie MaloneStephanie Malone
    KRBC Weekend Meteorologist


        Stephanie is a Texas native, born and raised in Carrolton, Texas. She has loved weather from a young age and has always wanted to be a meteorologist.
        She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology with a double minor in Broadcast Meteorology and Mathematics.
        Her internships have included stops at WFAA TV in Dallas and KWTV in Oklahoma City. Her KWTV internship gave her first hand experience in severe weather forecasting of storms in the heart of Tornado Alley.
        Outside of work, she enjoys going to the movies, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

    Michelle DapperMichelle Dapper
    KRBC Sports Director

        Michelle hails from California, born in Southern California and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.
        She graduated Summa Cum Laude and in the top 10 percent of her class at San Francisco State University and graduated with a double major in Radio & Television Broadcast and Journalism.
        During college years she not only anchored and reported for The College Sports Report and State of Events, she also interned at KTVU-TV in the sports department. 
        She also stayed busy working for ESPN-Kwokman Productions where she was a production assistant, as well as for Berkeley Community Media where she co-hosted and field reported for 28 Minutes.
        An athlete all her life, from basketball, softball, soccer and martial arts, Michelle also enjoys working out, wakeboarding, snowboarding and hanging out with family and friends.


    Tyler Edwards
    Reporter-Weekend Sports Anchor


         From a very young age, Tyler knew he had a passion for sports.
         Whether it was playing toss with his dad in the front yard or waking up early to watch college football instead of Saturday cartoons, Tyler found his first love.
         After many years of being chubby and unpopular, Tyler attended Weatherford High School and worked at the high school television station, and by coincedance or not, it was called KRBC (Kangaroo Broadcasting Company). The kangaroo is the school mascot.
        After high school, Tyler went to Lubbock to pursue a degree in journalism and fell in love with Texas Tech.
        While in Lubbock, Tyler started working at our sister stations, ABC/CBS affiliates KAMC/KLBK TV where he was an intern and later became a full-time employee. Tyler joined us in May of 2008 and is excited to be in the Big Country.
